Being three people in one movie might be a little confusing, but not for Joe Pendleton, Leo Farnsworth, or Tom Jarrett all trying to succeed to live on and to play football. This is a beautiful jersey featuring mesh torso, stitched attached numbers and letters. Now, here's a word from our movie expert Michael Rose: "On Heaven Can Wait ... There is no screen time of Warren Beatty wearing a jersey IN a game other than 16. However, he is neither Joe Pendleton nor Leo Farnsworth at the time, but rather Tom Jarrett. At the beginning of the movie while Joe Pendleton is still alive, we see him at practice wearing 14 (under the red QB vest). While he is named the starter for the next game (over the prior starter Tom Jarrett, No. 16), he is taken to Heaven mistakenly beforehand and his body cremated. His spirit is then put into the body of Leo Farnsworth. Leo Farnsworth then buys the Rams and demands a tryout. During the tryout he also wears 14 (again under the red QB vest). However, Leo never plays a game (or at least we never see him play a game), as he is murdered by his wife and traveling secretary a couple of days before the Super Bowl. During the Super Bowl, Tom Jarrett, No. 16, is tackled and "dies". Mr. Jordan offers Joe Pendleton the opportunity to inhabit the body of Tom Jarrett, which he does, causing Jarrett to jump back to life, re-enter and win the game. After the decision to stay in Jarrett's body, Pendleton's spirit becomes Jarrett and has no recollection of his prior life(ves). So, throughout the whole movie Tom Jarrett is the only person to wear 16 for the Rams, which he does continuously for the entire movie and beyond. So, if there is going to be a 16 jersey, it should say Jarrett on the back (though you could stretch to say that Pendleton's spirit has remained in Jarrett's body from the end of the movie on)...."
